Oakhill, All Saints

An award winning extension to the church providing a multi-purpose space; a meeting room / school room, new toilets and severy with improvements to the vestry. Dormer windows are made in the new roof to light the nave and the extension, allowing a reduction in glazing to the walls where large areas of glass are a security concern. The effect is very pleasing externally and dramatic internally - drawing on the character of the original design by the leading Victorian Church Architect J L Pearson.

The design and construction (by St Blaise) were Highly Commended in the Mendip District Council Building Excellence Awards of 2012, and received a Commendation from the William Stansell/Somerset Building Preservation Trust Awards 2012
